Meldrim, Georgia Train Disaster

On June 28, 1959, a Seaboard Air Line freight train derailed on a trestle over the Ogeechee River near Meldrim, Georgia. Liquefied petroleum gas escaped from a ruptured tank car and ignited, killing 23 people who had been swimming or picnicking nearby.

This one is not getting the usual joke treatment.

That was 67 years ago. Remembered, not decorated.
